  • Abuja high court grants Ex-gov Bello ₦500mn bail

An Abuja High Court today granted ex-Kogi governor Yahaya Bello a ₦500mn bail in a case of ₦110,446,470,089 alleged fraud.
The case is hinged on what the prosecution says breaches Sections 96 and 311 of the Penal Code Law Cap. 89, Laws of Northern Nigeria.
The presiding judge in the case, Maryann Anenih, gave the bail conditions as three sureties each of who should have properties worth ₦500mn located in prime areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including Jabi, Wuse 2, Apo, and Asokoro, Legit.ng reports.
Bello, two-time governor of Kogi State, was just a week ago granted ₦500mn bail by the Abuja High Court in another case allegedly involving ₦80bn money laundering.
