There is palpable tension in the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State as 14 clergymen are reportedly dead, following serious cases of persecution in the Oron Area of the Church.
In a startling revelation, Apostle Isaac Uye, the Field Superintendent of The Apostolic Church, Oro Field and National Evangelist, said no fewer than 14 pastors, including seven apostles and other ministers, have died after joining hands with Apostle Effiong Okon Uye, the church’s leader in Akwa Ibom State, to persecute him.
Speaking to journalists in Oron town over the weekend, Dr. Uye stated that the Lord had sent “the greetings of death” to those who had previously disgraced him publicly.
It would be recalled that Apostle Isaac Uye was accused of adultery and being caught in-the-act with another minister’s wife and on video recording.
The narrative which went viral by late December 2021, also snowballed to his eventual assassination attempt, after he was kidnapped.
At the point of his execution in the kidnappers’ den, the clergy was reportedly rescued by one of the paid assassins, who after removing the veil on him (Apostle Uye), identified him as a powerful man of God and took the risk of rescuing him for being innocent.
Recounting his experience, Apostle Dr. Uye said, “The Lord told me that for those people to have disgraced me, He would send them the greetings of death.
They consulted a herbalist who sent an evil bird to kill me. But God gave the bird into our hands and we killed and burnt it.”
Apostle Isaac Uye revealed that Apostle Effiong Okon Uye, his relative and fellow clergy, who is in charge of the Apostolic Church in Akwa Ibom State, has been making several attempts to reach out to him for a settlement, after severally persecuting him.
Drawing a parallel with the experience of the Apostle Paul, Apostle Dr. Uye said, “I am using precedence from the experience of Paul the Apostle who was detained and disgraced publicly. But when he was to be released, they wanted releasing him secretly. But Paul Apostle insisted that since he was arrested, detained and disgraced publicly, he must be released publicly. That is my position on this matter.”
Isaac Uye further stated that he has not yet forgiven those who persecuted him, as they were yet to apologise and show remorse for their actions.
Isaac Uye told the press that out of the three lawsuits filed against him by the same people who wanted him dead, he was exonerated, having won two of the cases, and was discharged of all the various allegations, adding that the people withdrew one of the cases.
Apostle Uye stated that the “mind boggling challenges” he faced were “geared at dragging his hard-earned reputation to the mud.”
However, he expressed gratitude to God for always providing an “escape route” for him.
He said, “I have been arrested over six times, arraigned severally in the court of law. To the glory of God, I have won my foes in all the cases brought against me, including the one between the Inspector General of Police vs myself in CHARGE NO MC/107C/2022, SUIT NO: MC/247C/2022, SUIT NO: HOR/FRH.2/2022.”
The man of God further revealed that on November 18, 2022, the “girl in question and the boy” who had made the allegations against him, “pleaded for forgiveness in the office of the Inspector General of Police, pleading for settlement and admitting that the said video of his alleged adultery scene doesn’t exist.”
However, Apostle Uye expressed disappointment with the current national executive council of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, describing them as “very diabolic, syncretive, nocturnal, unjust, unfaithful, unholy and myopic.”
He added that “among the sins or crimes of adultery, rape or attempted rape levelled against me, none was established so I could be found guilty.”
He regretted that instead of the national executive council of the Church to call them for a physical meeting to handle the issue, they sent him back to the state which is led by his accuser for trial and later handed him a letter of suspension.
He added that after he saw that the people were not ready to handle the allegations and get him exonerated, he decided to begin a new denomination which he called The Apostolic Church Oro Field.
According to him, the new Church has gathered over 30,000 membership in less than two years, over 40 branches within and outside the state and beyond the coast of Nigeria, even as about 241 children born to members within the period have been voluntarily named after him.
Further findings revealed that Apostle Isaac Uye faced persecution and envy because of the “Great Grace” of God upon his life, which has led him to performing mindblowing miracles, especially in delivering people from satanic bondage.
Meanwhile, news of the massive deaths within the Apostolic Church in Akwa Ibom State has sent shockwaves through the religious community, raising questions about the underlying tensions and conflicts within the denomination.
Two things. He should forgive them. Jesus Christ forgave those who were about killing Him even though they offered Him no apology. Stephen the evangelist did same. So, seemingly floating the deaths of his alleged traducers is not proper. Number two. It is unethical to name his new group, The Apostolic Church, Ọrọn Field. That’s stoking trouble and makes no spiritual sense. There are many other names he could choose.
