The Triumph of Mmaette: Eyiboh receives mother’s family blessing

In a poignant display of cultural traditions and familial bonds, Rt Hon. Eseme Eyiboh , the son of the late Deaconess Grace Sunday Eyiboh and Heir to The House of Eyiboh (THoE), received the blessings of his mother’s people in Idung Usong of Akpa Utong Village, Esit Eket LGA of Akwa Ibom State, to proceed with funeral obsequies of his deceased mother.

The solemn ceremonies took place on Monday, November 4, as Eyiboh was embraced and celebrated by his mother’s community in a touching gesture of unity and support.

Accompanied by the extended Eyiboh family, Eseme Eyiboh participated in the sacred rites, honouring his mother’s legacy and deepening the ties with her people.

The Idung Usiong family members, including Chief Etim Akpama Udo, Samuel Sunday Akpama, Mr. Godwin Bassey, Mr. Sampson Bassey, Uwem Monday Akpama, and Iniobong Emmanuel Akpama, stood in solidarity with Eyiboh during this emotional journey.

Grateful for the unwavering support extended to him, Eseme Eyiboh expressed his gratitude to his mother’s community and pledged to invest in their future.

Flanked by his siblings,the former spokesperson of the House of Representatives, committed to training five members of his mother’s people in high-end skills acquisition and ensuring the educational advancement of five others from level 100 in the universities up to the Ph.D. levels.

Eyiboh, while making the pledge, noted that he was poised to honouring his late mother’s legacies of industry and community service.

Among the Eyiboh Family members present at the funeral rites were Chief Eyo Okon Eyiboh, Elder Robson Eyiboh, Chief Okon Tom Eyiboh, Supol Adionam Eyiboh and Mr Sunday Sunday Eyiboh.

The funeral rites of Deaconess Grace Sunday Eyiboh were marked by a harmonious blend of cultural traditions and community solidarity, as Eseme Eyiboh was beautifully adorned with traditional attires of his mother’s people and accompanied by men and women in long procession of folksongs and dances.

The event ended with high expectations as all parties pledged to do their best to ensure success during Mmaette’s funeral ceremony on Saturday, November 9, at Community Secondary School ground, Akpautong village in Esit Eket LGA of Akwa Ibom State.
