Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Udung Uko local government area of Akwa Ibom State have endorsed Governor Umo Eno and Hon. Kenim Onofiok for a second term in their respective offices.
While Umo leads the state as the number one citizen, Kenim Onofiok is the member representing Oron/Udung Uko State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
The endorsement was made on Thursday, January 16, during a stakeholders’ meeting at the residence of Ikpoto Okon Osung, the political leader of the area.
They commended Governor Umo Eno for his “remarkable achievements in less than two years,” citing “projects such as the 13.5 km Uyo-Oron Road, the ongoing rehabilitation of Oron Beach, and the health center in Ukukim, Udung Uko LGA.”
According to them the governor’s endorsement was to affirmed the Akwa Ibom State PDP’s adoption of Governor Umo Eno as the party’s sole candidate in the 2027 general election and gubernatorial candidate.
They praised the governor “for his life-changing projects across the state, including the health center project approved for Udung Uko LGA.”
It would be recalled that the state working committee of the party, while hosting the governor at the state party secretariat last week, endorsed him for a second term in office.
While describing Hon. Kenim Onofiok’s performance as “superlative and top-notch,” they praised her “effective leadership style, political selflessness, and tremendous empowerment” as a reason for the endorsement.
They said Mrs Onofiok have performed well and deserved their nod for a second term as the member representing Oron/Udung Uko State Constituency.
The meeting was attended by critical stakeholders, including the Chapter Chairman of PDP, Barr. Godwin Etta; the State Assistant Youth Leader of PDP, Engr. Ben Edenseting; and the Chairman of the Elders Forum, Engr. Asukwo Idung.
The release added that the Council Chairman, Hon. Elder Godwin Okponung, who was unavoidably absent, gave his blessings and endorsed the adoption.
