A’Ibom Police arrest defilement suspect, armed robber

•Recovers locally made pistol

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspect linked to a case of defilement and armed robbery in the state.

The Command arrested the suspect following a tip-off received on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from a concerned citizen.

The detectives of the Command were able to track and apprehend the suspect named Happiness Alphonsus Iseyen, a 26-year-old male from Ini Local Government Area.

In a release signed by the Command’s PPRO DSP Timfon John, made available to WatchmanPost, the arrest was made at approximately 1340 hours.

Upon a search of the suspect, a locally made pistol and one cartridge were recovered from his possession.

The release stated that the “Command is conducting a discreet investigation to arrest other members of the gang and recover their operational weapons”.

The Command reassures the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents.

“We urge citizens to continue to cooperate with the police by providing timely and credible information”, the release said.
