Gov Eno assures children of secure future
UYO, Akwa Ibom State – Governor Umo Eno has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for the next generation, describing children as the “future of the world.”
The governor spoke yesterday, Friday, 13 March 2026, while hosting pupils of King’s Kids Christian Montessori School, Uyo, who were at Government House for a guided educational tour. Despite a demanding schedule, Governor Eno personally received the young visitors, noting that his passion for child welfare remains a top priority.
Focus on security and education
Addressing the pupils, Governor Eno emphasized that the state’s primary duty is to maintain a peaceful environment where children can pursue their dreams without fear.
“We are here to receive you because I pay particular attention to children. What you see and experience today will leave a lasting impression on you,” the Governor stated. “Our job is to ensure a secure and peaceful state where you can focus entirely on your studies.”
He urged the students to view the visit as a catalyst for their academic ambitions, assuring them that his administration is “giving our today for your tomorrow” to build a lasting legacy.
Inspiring the next generation
Beyond the formal address, the Governor commended the school’s faculty for their dedication to nurturing future leaders. Highlights of the visit included:
- Guided tour: The pupils were given a firsthand look at the inner workings of the Governor’s Office.
- ARISE Ambassadors: Each child received a backpack filled with educational materials and meal packs. The bags featured the ARISE badge, symbolically commissioning the pupils as ambassadors of the state’s development initiative.
- Recognition: The pupils presented the Governor with an Award of Leadership Excellence in appreciation of his vision for the state.
Voices of Gratitude
The Senior Prefect, Miss Ruth Thank-God, thanked the governor for his warmth and for being a source of inspiration to Akwa Ibom’s youth. Similarly, the Deputy Head Teacher (Academics), Mrs. Grace Ben, lauded the governor’s “genuine care and concern,” noting that the experience would serve as a lifelong memory for the students.
