Antai set to mark 60th birthday with thanksgiving service

A prominent son of Akwa Ibom State, Sir Victor Etim Antai, Executive Director of Projects at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), will mark a significant milestone 60th birthday anniversary with a thanksgiving.

The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Methodist Church Nigeria Cathedral of the Cross Circuit, 22 Ekpenyong Street, Oron, Akwa Ibom State.

Sir Antai, a distinguished administrator and servant leader, hails from Oduo Ebughu in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

He has made significant contributions to the development of his community and the nation at large.

Throughout his illustrious career, Sir Antai has held various positions that have showcased his exceptional leadership skills, including serving as the Chairman of Mbo Local Government Area for two terms.

He later became the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Commissioner for Culture & Tourism in Akwa Ibom State.

In the Methodist Church which he attended from childhood, Victor Antai has made impactful contributions which have earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious title of Knight of John Wesley (KJW) by the Methodist Church Nigeria.

He was also recognized as the head of the most improved ministry by the immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2017.

Speaking with WatchmanPost, his special assistant on Media, Mr Dominic Uye, said, “The thanksgiving service promises to be a momentous occasion, bringing together friends, family, and well-wishers to celebrate Sir Antai’s life and achievements.

“It is a testament to his enduring impact on his community and the nation, and a celebration of his devotion to service and community development.”
