●As leadership controversies linger

Amidst lingering controversies rocking the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, BCS, it has gone ahead to announce and invite the general public to the 2024 edition of the divine manifestation of the king of kings and the lord of lords his holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, to be held at the world headquarters of BCS in Calabar.
Speaking with journalists at the BCS Four Town Bethel in Uyo, the spokesman, Patriarch Ama Williams, highlighted the weeklong event which is themed; “Unshakable King of Glory, Unshakable Kingdom”, kick started Sunday 17th with the commissioning of an untra modern cathedral at Ikot Ekitat, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
On Monday, November 18, a super morning prayer will commence at all Bethels worldwide, while Tuesday, the 19th will be Feast of the Lamb, and Wednesday, 20th, an open kitchen, where free food shall be served as well as other charity works to be carried out by BCS faithfuls to those in need.
The divine manifestation of the leader of the BCS is also slated for that day, while Thursday through to Sunday will witness evangelism, song ministration, consecration of Bishops and to climax with Thanksgiving.
Describing the establishment of primary and secondary schools by the leader of BCS as a practical example of the leader’s commitment to education development in the country, the spokesman informed journalists of machineries set in motion for the BCS university, which he said, will model the best of university education and make quality education affordable and accessible to ordinary Nigerians.
On the various controversies that have been bedeviling the BCS and it’s leadership, Patriarch Williams said they were unperturbed. His words: “In recent times, a lot of lies, concocted stories, insulting and blasphemous insinuations has been made on the social media against his holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, mostly here in AkwaIbom State.
Some out of ignorance and some done deliberately to achieve their personal ambitions. In all of these, his holiness Olumba Olumba Obu is unperturbed as blasphemy has become a recurring decimal in the manifestations of God on earth….”
On the controversy around the viral video showing the desecration of the BCS bethel on Nsikak Edouk Avenue by some members of New Kingdom Ministry over the ownership of the said property, the BCS spokesman explained: “There is no doubt or contest that this property was bought and registered in the name of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and it belongs to BCS.
“At the appropriate time, BCS evicted them from the property and they took us to court. After hearing the matter, Hon. Justice Joy Unwana of Akwa Ibom State High Court on 17th of October, 2024, ruled that New Kingdom Ministry’s application lacks merit and was dismissed with the sum of N100,000.00 against the applicant in favour of each respondent.
“Rather than seek good legal advice, the members of the New Kingdom Ministry, same people who rebeled against the leadership of BCS long ago, decided to take laws into their hands by organizing hoodlums to invade the BCS worship centre at Nsikak Edouk in clear contempt of court ruling.”
Patrick William further urged BCS members and the public to discountenance the rantings of the rebels and focus on the truth that seek to project the Kingdom of God on earth.
However, members of the New Kingdom Ministry do not see themselves as rebels.
