The general overseer of Gilgal Christian Centre, Pastor Dr. Jerry Udoh, has advised married couples to practice true Christian marriage with the fear of God to obtain God’s favor for the success of their marriage.
The clergy, Pastor Jerry Udoh, gave this advice during the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Etidi Archibong at the church auditorium in Uyo.
The general overseer admonished the couple to understand the reason why God constituted marriage and urged them not to abuse the institution but rather to continue to live in love and unity.
Pastor Jerry Udoh further explained that a man’s wife is his best friend and not a punching bag.
According to him, a man will leave his father’s house and be wed to a woman, and they both become one. “… towards the development needs of your family, it’s in your ability to be committed in God’s dealings and exhibit a serious prayer lifestyle for your family,” he stressed.
He, the man of God, maintained that the moment or the day a man marries, “the battle of your lives has started. Because you want to establish a new generation. But note that in the process, if you continue to acknowledge your family roots more than your new home, it may cause serious setbacks against you.”
In his speech, the wedded husband, Mr. Etido Michael Archibong, thanked God Almighty for the successful marriage despite the challenges faced in the planning and execution. “In all, God stood firm by us, and we will continue to be committed to Him and His works.”
He explained how the general overseer, Pastor Jerry Udoh, has been an instrument to him, especially impacting many things into his life positively.
He prayed to God to protect and direct the affairs of the general overseer and cause him to wax strong in the vineyard of God.
The event saw the couple exchanging marriage vows, rings, and dance.
