CP Baba Mohammed Azare felicitates Christians, Muslims; assures robust security during Lent, Ramadan

The Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, has extended warm felicitations to Christian and Muslim faithful in Akwa Ibom State as they commence the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan.

In a statement issued on Friday, signed by the command’s spokesperson DSP Timfon John, the Police Commissioner urged adherents of both faiths to use the solemn periods for deep reflection, prayer, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence in the State and across Nigeria.

He noted that Lent and Ramadan symbolize self-discipline, love, forgiveness, and devotion to God values he described as critical to societal growth, stability, and peaceful living.

Azare called on residents to pray fervently for sustained peace, security, and progress, while also supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to aid effective policing.

The CP assured citizens of robust security arrangements across the State before, during, and after the fasting periods.

According to him, deployments, patrols, and intelligence-driven operations have been intensified to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free observance.

He warned criminal elements and mischief-makers to stay away from the State, stressing that the Command remains resolute and prepared to deal decisively with anyone attempting to disrupt public peace.

The Commissioner wished Christians and Muslims a spiritually fulfilling and peaceful Lenten and Ramadan season.
