Dr Inuikim pledges support for Ebughu-based NYSC members’ development project

Sir Asuquo Edet Inuikim of Asak Ikang Ebughu has assured corps members serving in Ebughu community, Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, of his support for their proposed community development project aimed at improving environmental health in the area.

Dr Inuikim gave the assurance on Sunday, January 4, during a courtesy visit by members of the Environmental Community Development Service (CDS) group of Community Secondary Grammar School, Ebughu, at his hometown in Asak Ikang Ebughu.

The corps members explained that their project focuses on contributing to environmental sanitation through the provision and donation of mobile waste management equipment, particularly movable waste bins, to serve villages, markets, and schools within the Ebughu community.

According to them, the initiative is designed to promote proper waste disposal and sustain a clean and healthy environment.

Moved by what he described as the zeal, commitment, and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the corps members, Dr Inuikim commended their willingness to make a positive impact in their host community.

He noted that such initiatives align with global best practices in environmental management and community development.

“I am impressed by your interest in environmental health and your desire to give back to the community where you are serving,” Dr Inuikim said, assuring the corps members of his willingness to support the project within his capacity.

He however enjoying the corps members to take out a little more time and figure out how the project can be sustained, even after they passed out of their various places of primary assignments (PPA).

Earlier, while presenting their request, the CDS group led by Ikoli Everly Gospower, Head of Corpers; Ogunride Segun Abdullahi; CDS President and Anafuwe princess, CDS secretary, appealed to Chief Inuikim to assist in the realisation of the project.

They cited his exemplary leadership and numerous contributions to the development of Oro Nation and Ebughu community as reasons for seeking his intervention.

The corps members expressed optimism that with his support, the project would help maintain a high level of cleanliness in strategic public locations such as markets and school premises, while also encouraging residents to adopt proper waste disposal habits.
