Ebughu Students’ association urges action on dilapidated roads

The National Association of Ebughu Students (NAES) has appealed to Virgin Forest Energy, Ebughu Fishing Terminal Management, and the Akwa Ibom State Government to repair the deplorable roads in Ebughu community.

In an open letter, NAES President Comr. Ante Ita highlighted the dangers posed by potholed roads, particularly Abiakowo (Udung Mmatang), caused by fuel trucks and cargo vehicles.

Accorsing to the letter, “Residents face increased accidents, dust pollution, erosion, and environmental hazards on the road.”

The association called for collaborative efforts to repair and maintain the roads, scheduling regular maintenance to prevent future deterioration.

NAES believed that neglect of the deplorable roads, would exacerbate health issues, hinder local businesses, and potentially spark protests.

They urged Virgin Forest Energy, the Ebughu Fishing Terminal Management, and the Akwa Ibom State Government to urgently allocate necessary resources, deploy machinery, and expertise to fix the roads to ensure the community’s well-being and prosperity.
