Eket Senatorial District Media Professionals set for 3-day symposium

The Association of Eket Senatorial District Media Professionals is organizing a 3-day media symposium scheduled to take place from June 26 to 28, 2025, at Nissi Hall, Eden Hotels Ltd.

The symposium’s theme is “Communication Dynamics and Corporate Governance in Akwa Ibom State,” with a sub-theme focusing on appraising the impact of corporate social responsibilities of oil and gas companies on the state’s development process.

This event aims to bring together media professionals, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss critical issues affecting the state’s development and governance.

The symposium will feature prominent speakers and guests, including His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, as the Special Guest of Honour, while Her Excellency Senator (Dr.) Akon Eyakeny, Deputy Governor, Akwa Ibom State, will serve as the Patroness.

Also, Hon. Frank Archibong, Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Akwa Ibom State, will chair the occasion, just as Mr. Moffat Ekoriko, Managing Director of Clear Pearl Communication and Consultant to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Senator Ekong Sampson, Ph.D, Senator representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District will serve as Keynote speaker, and Guest of Honour respectively.

Guest lecturers will include Mr. Ode Udeagha, General Manager of Public and Government Affairs at ExxonMobil Nigeria, Qua Iboe Terminal, and Prof. Herbert Batta, Professor of Science Communication & Media Studies at the University of Uyo. Other notable guests include Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, Member representing Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, and Rep. Martin Esin, Member representing Eket State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

The symposium will also feature the conferment of awards and honors on eminent and deserving Nigerians, further highlighting the importance of this event in promoting excellence and good governance.
