The EMOIMEE Host Community Development Trust has flagged off the rehabilitation of five primary health centres in Mbo Local Government Area.
The event, which took place at the Primary Health Centre, Enwang, was attended by representatives of the Board of Trustees of the body, community leaders, health stakeholders, and other dignitaries.

The Board of Trustees Chairman’s representative, Hon Emmanuel Justice Ntuks, emphasised the importance of health, stating that “health is wealth.”
He commended EMOIMEE officials for initiating the projects and charged the contractors to complete them on schedule and in accordance with specifications.
Flanked by Mbo BoT member, Sir Asuquo Inuikim, and that of Eastern Obolo, Mrs Lilly Evans, Hon. Ntuks also called for community support, stressing that such collaboration and conscious supervision would ensure quality work.
Also speaking, Sir Asuquo Inuikim described the project as “massive and first of its kind” and expressed optimism that they would greatly benefit the people.
Inuikim assured that all necessary equipment would be procured to enable the health centres to provide quality services.
Other EMOIMEE officials, including Chief Ulo A. Uye, Chief Ita Ntekim, and Chief Edet E. Okon, explained their roles in the projects, which include periodic supervision, assessment, and recommendations for funding.
They maintained that the projects would be executed with full transparency, adding that funds would be periodically approved for them.
Community leaders, including Chief Effiong Mfon, Clan Head of Okpo in Enwang; and Mr Edem Ntekim, President-General, Udesi Development Association, lauded EMOIMEE’s decision to award the contracts.
They urged stakeholders to show patriotism in discharging their responsibilities to ensure the successful completion of the projects.
The contractors, led by Engr Ita Awak, pledged to deliver quality work on time and in line with specifications.
They also called on traditional rulers and other community leaders to invoke their authority to secure the materials for the projects.
The forum of youth presidents in Mbo LGA, led by Comrade Victor Ntuen, assured EMOIMEE that they would collaborate with contractors to provide adequate security and ensure the timely delivery of the projects.
Highpoint of the event was the unveiling of the projects’ prototype for the five communities of Enwang, Uda, Effiat, Udesi, and Ebughu.
