The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as its National Chairman, effective immediately.
According to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, Ganduje resigned to attend to urgent and important personal matters.
In a statement, Morka said Ganduje leaves his position with great pride in the party’s collective aspirations to strengthen its unity and cohesion, expand its democratic ideals, and enhance its electoral competitiveness.
Ganduje’s tenure saw successful defections from opposition parties and legal affirmations of the party’s leadership legitimacy.
“We assure all party faithfuls that our Party remains steadfast and unwavering in our mission to deliver transformative governance for all Nigerians, in line with President Tinubu’s renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement read.
Ganduje assumed leadership of the APC in August 2023, following the resignation of his predecessor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
The President has directed Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, the Deputy National Chairman (North), to assume the position of Acting National Chairman, pending a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to fill the vacancy.
The APC extends its gratitude to Ganduje for his invaluable contributions and distinguished record of service, wishing him good health and success in his future endeavors.
