•Dumps party for APC

A former senatorial candidate of Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District under the platform of the Labour Party, LP, Obongawan Nseobong Okpongette, has expressed regret in the support she gave Mr Peter Obi in 2023.
Obonganwan Okpongette who contested the election in 2023, said the former presidential candidate of the party, Mr Obi, was a poor manager of human resources, as seen in the recent crisis rocking the LP.
Speaking with WatchmanPost, the former senatorial candidate condemned the poor leadership quality displayed by Mr Peter Obi, saying he was incompetent in the management of human resources.
Her words: “The former Anambra State governor lacks the charisma to lead this country as President and Commander in Chief of this great country.
“In fact, I regret following him and watching his current role in the crisis that has rocked the Labour Party recently, I will describe him as a joker for the office of the President.”
Okpongette said she could no longer condone the abysmal leadership of the party’s national leader, wondering if that was how he was hoping to lead the whole nation.
She therefore declared are decision to dump the LP, and instead, embrace the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Obongawan pledged her support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and his Renewed Hope Agenda, which she said, would soon turn the fortunes of the country around for good.
She urged all Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu’s administration because tough decisions had to be taken that may be harmful for a season but that the majority of Nigerians would soon smile.
“All we have to do is to ensure we vote President Tinubu as President in the upcoming 2027 elections”, she assured.
Meanwhile, Obonganwan Okpongette has endorsed the candidature of the President of the Senate, Sen. Goodwill Akpabio for the North-East Senatorial District because of his outstanding performance so far.
She appreciated the spectacular governance indices of Governor Umo Eno, saying he has led the state with wisdom which resonates with peace and unity in the state.
She encouraged the governor to go ahead with his planned defection to the APC, assuring him of her support.
