Mbo EMOIMEE free medical Workshop: 20 surgeries done, two new babies born

The EMOIMEE 2025 Free Medical Workshop, currently ongoing in Mbo Local Government Area, is making waves in the community, with residents expressing gratitude for the life-changing medical services being provided.

According to the Chief Medical Consultant for Global Hands Medical Foundation, Dr. Titus Antai, the event is going “marvellously well,” with 20 surgeries already successfully conducted.

Dr. Antai revealed that the team has had two births during the course of the workshop, with the second baby, a child named “Glory EMOIMEE Joseph,” born on Tuesday, October 7.

He described the experience as “overwhelming and exhaustive” but rewarding, adding that the people are very pleased with the services being provided.

The Coordinating Medical Director of Global Hands Medical Foundation, Dr. Katherine Ntekim, echoed Dr. Antai’s sentiments, expressing gratitude to the sponsors, EMOIMEE, for providing succour to the people.

She however, urged attendees to remain orderly, citing the limited number of hands on deck.

Dr. Ntekim also noted that the service is principally for the underprivileged who cannot access healthcare, and that cases beyond their ppcapacity would be referred to general or special hospitals.

A nurse working with the team, Mercy Effiong Akadu, described the experience as “overwhelming” due to the high turnout. She noted that the community members were very happy and asked many questions during the health talks, and that the team is thankful for the opportunity to serve.

The medical workshop being sponsored by the NNPCL/Seplat JV EMOIMEE HCDT is a testament to the commitment of EMOIMEE and Global Hands Medical Foundation to improving healthcare delivery in the region.

As the event continues, residents of Mbo LGA are encouraged to take advantage of the free medical services being provided.
