Mbo EMOIMEE set for five-week free medical workshop

The Leadership of EMOIMEE HCDT from Mbo local government area has concluded arrangements to embark on a free medical workshop/service in the five communities of the area.

The initiative, which aims to provide much-needed medical care to the people, will hold at the various primary health centers in the five respective communities.

According to the team led by Bot Member, Sir Asuquo Inuikim; Advisory Committee Member, Sir Ita Ntekim; and Management Committee Member, Chief Edet E Okon, the event will last for five working days in each of the five communities.

Addressing a cross section of community leaders, including traditional rulers, women and youths from the communities, Sir Asuquo Inuikim revealed that the event is scheduled to commence from first week of October and will rotate weekly throughout the five communities of Uda, Enwang, Ebughu, Udesi and Effiat.

Also speaking to WatchmanPost, the Chief Medical Director for the project, Dr. Titus Antai, disclosed that a team of competent health personnel has been assembled to provide the required medical services to the people.

Recalling a similar outreach carried out last year, which had almost 6,000 beneficiaries, Dr. Antai called on community members to come out in large numbers and take advantage of the free medical service.

“Health is wealth,” Dr. Antai emphasized, urging the people to seize the opportunity to receive quality medical care.

He expressed optimism that the initiative will go a long way in improving the health and wellbeing of the people in the communities, listing out some medical services to be provided to include: surgeries, dental and eye services, seminars, lectures and training.

Stakeholders, including traditional rulers, women, and youth leaders, who were briefed about the project, expressed gratitude to EMOIMEE HCDT for the initiative and urged community members to support the programme.
