The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, officially unveiled its Akwa Ibom State chapter, signaling a bold move to expand its political footprint in the South-South region.
Speaking at the inauguration in Uyo, the state chairman, Dr Bassey Willie, declared that the party is poised to challenge and disrupt existing political structures in the state.
He emphasised the need for aggressive grassroots mobilisation, urging members to remain committed and passionate in recruiting new members to strengthen the party’s base.
“We are coming out strong to upset the current political order,” Willie said, adding that sustained momentum in membership drive would be key to the party’s success.
The unveiling marks a significant step in the NDC’s broader strategy to establish a formidable presence across Nigeria ahead of future electoral contests.
