Six-month’s advance dues: Offi Ward 2 APC calls for membership registration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Offi Ward 2, Okobo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has announced the commencement of membership registration.

According to the Ward Chairman, Mr. Friday Okwong; and the Ward Secretary, Mr Sunday Isaac, the party is “ready to admit any person desiring to be its financial member in Offi Ward 2, in accordance with the provisions of the party’s constitution”.

The release stated that to register, applicants must: be citizens of Nigeria of Offi Ward 2 origin or reside/work in the ward; be at least 18 years old; submit a formal application to the Ward Executive Committee with two passport photographs for their membership card; and pay a prescribed fee determined by the Ward Executive Committee.

Again, new members seeking to enjoy all statutory membership benefits in line with the party’s constitution, are expected to pay six months’ dues to qualify as a financial member.

Accordingly, the Ward Executive Committee is vested with the duties to consider, clear, and accept applications.

The release indicated that successful applicants, would be enrolled in the Register of Members and issued with Membership and Dues Cards.

Notably, political office holders or aspirants seeking to join the APC in the ward must present a written letter of resignation from their previous parties.

Meanwhile, the release also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for the Coastal Road project running through the LGA, pledging their support for his administration beyond 2027.

While thanking Senate President Godswill Akpabio for the appointment of an Oro son, Sir Victor Antai, as Executive Director Project of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Gov Umo Eno for his projects in the state, the Ward officials vowed massive support to them beyond 2027.

The statement reads thus in parts, “The Ward Executive Committee, the Principal Stakeholders, the youths, the women and indeed the entire APC family in Offi Ward 2, Okobo LGA, Akwa Ibom State hereby convey their warmth and heartfelt appreciation to the President and Commander-in- Chief of The Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the epochal Coastal Road Project which runs through some villages in Okobo LGA in particular and Oro nation as a whole which commencement of its construction in this part of the country was inaugurated few weeks ago in Akwa Ibom State with our most excellent governor – HE Pastor Umo Eno in attendance during the inauguration.

“We the APC members in Offi ward 2 consider this project very significant to the development of Oro nation, particularly, when one reckons the socio-economic impacts of the closure of a part of Aba to Oron federal road at a point which obscured Okobo LGA, nay Oro nation from the federal roads’ map consequent upon the unprecedented and viable development of Ibom Airport along that road. Thank you very much Mr. President for bringing to us this monumental Coastal Road Project with its concomitant benefits.

“In the same token, Offi ward 2 hereby expresses its sincere gratitude to The Senate President – Dr. Gosdwill Obot Akpabio for the recognition given Oron Federal Constituency through his facilitation of the appointment of our son and foremost APC Chieftain/Leader in Oron/Okobo/Mbo/ Udung Uko/Urueoffong – Oruko Federal Constituency – Sir Victor Antai (KJW) as Executive Director- Project in the NDDC Board.

“The ward hereby confirms its evergreen solidarity to the present administrations and pledges total support for Mr. President, Our Governor, The Senate President and Sir Victor Antai for their accomplishments so far in the few months in their respective offices.”
