The Senator representing Akwa Ibom South in the National Assembly, Senator Ekong Sampson, has felicitated with Miss Usoro Akpabio on her appointment by President Bola Tinubu as Managing Director of the South South Development Commission.
In a message to the new MD, the Onomkpoinam Mkpat Enin hailed Akpabio’s appointment as pioneer helmswoman of the recently established interventionist commission, saying that it was a notable recognition.
Senator Sampson expressed trust that Akpabio will bring her wealth of knowledge and midas touch to bear in managing the affairs of the Commission, to meet its lofty objectives.
Recall that Senator Sampson was a co-Sponsor of the Bill for the establishment of the South South Development Commission.
He, alongside other South South lawmakers in the 10th Assembly worked collaboratively to see to the passage of the Bill and subsequent assent by President Tinubu.
The top lawmaker has been optimistic that the SSDC will engender rapid development of the oil rich South South region of Nigeria.
