- Christmas: Dangote crashes petrol price to N899.50K per litre
Dangote Petroleum Refinery says it has cut down the price of its petrol to N899.50K per litre ahead of the Yuletide and New Year festive seasons.
The company’s spokesman, Anthony Chiejina, said the price reduction is designed to ease transport costs during the festive period.
The refinery also said that consumers can purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought on a cash basis.
The privately-owned refinery had in November this year lowered its petrol price to N970 per litre.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL), which though now a private company, still plays the role akin to that of a regulator, sells its own petrol at a little above ₦1000 per litre.
How this reduction by Dangote Refinery would work out in real life is left to be seen in the days ahead.
