Eno appoints new head of service, sacks two aides
In a classic case of different strokes for different folks, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, yesterday, 17th November, appointed a new head of the state civil service, and also terminated the appointments of two of his aides.
The new Head of Service is Mrs. Elsie Anietie Peters, who takes over from Elder Effiong Essien, who served in that office for about a decade, having had his service extended at the pleasure of the Governor.
The two aides who were sacked same 17th November, are Mr Joseph Jacob Ikpak, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor , Support Services; and Mr. Felix Ekuri, Special Assistant to the Governor on Neighbourhood Watch.
Press releases conveying news of the two incidents and dated 17th November, 2025, were signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah.
The new Head of Service is to be sworn in today at 10 a.m. at Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.
