Breaking: NDC zones 2027 presidency to south, 2031 north
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has zoned its presidential ticket for the 2027 general election to the south of the country.
The resolution was taken earlier today, Saturday, during the party’s national convention in Abuja, TheCable reports.
The motion to this effect was moved by Afam Victor and seconded by Seyi Sowumi. On the other hand, the party zoned the 2031 presidential slot to the north.
The convention also ratified all members of the NDC’s national executive committee following a motion moved by Victor Umeh, senator representing Anambra Central.
Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governors of Anambra and Kano States, respectively, who moved from the African Democratic Congress to NDC mere days ago, are touted to be likely flagbearers of the party as presidential and vice-presidential candidates in next year’s polls.
