DSS arrests NLC President Ajaero
These are not the best of days for the president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Joe Ajaero.
Ajaero, who has in recent weeks been having issues with security agents in the country, was this morning arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, while on his way to attend the conference of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) beginning today in London, the United Kingdom, The Punch Online reports.
As at the time of filing this report WatchmanPost could not confirm why the NLC President was arrested, but it may not be unconnected with security concerns which prompted the police to invite him for questioning about a fortnight ago.
Ajaero honoured the invite, reportedly made a statement, and went home same day.
