The Board of Trustees member representing Mbo in the NNPC/Seplat JV EMOIMEE Host Community Development Trust, Chief Asukwo Inuikim, has reaffirmed the Trust’s unwavering commitment to creating opportunities and improving the welfare of the people of Mbo Local Government Area, through various empowerment and development initiatives.
Chief Inuikim gave the assurance on Tuesday while receiving a delegation of Mbo Progressive Ladies Association, led by its President, Hon. Alice Ekpenyong, during a courtesy visit.
The Association had visited the Trust’s leadership to seek strategic partnership and collaboration for the advancement of women, youths, and communities across Mbo.
Welcoming the delegation, Chief Inuikim commended the association for its proactive approach to community development and women empowerment, describing the visit as a positive step towards fostering inclusive growth in the area.
He reiterated the Trust’s dedication to providing opportunities for every indigene of Mbo through its numerous interventions.
According to him, the EMOIMEE HCDT has over the years implemented impactful programmes, including scholarship schemes, skills acquisition training, grants, and other empowerment initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and building a brighter future for the people.
“The Trust remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote the development of women and youths, while ensuring that every indigene of Mbo has access to opportunities for growth and self-reliance,” Inuikim stated.
He further emphasised the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, noting that sustainable development can only be achieved through collective efforts and strategic partnerships.
Also Speaking, the Mbo Advisory Committee member, Chief Ita Ntekim lauded the association for the initiative, adding that their visit was a step in the right direction, which would ignite the spirit of collaboration and ensure the greater opportunities for Mbo people.
He described the visit as a demonstration of responsible leadership and assured the association of the Trust’s continued support for programmes that enhance the welfare of women and youths.
According to Ntekim, the EMOIMEE Development Trust has consistently championed education, empowerment, and community development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Mbo indigenes and promoting inclusive growth.
Earlier, the President of the Mbo Progressive Ladies Association, Hon. Alice Ekpenyong, had described the organisation as a foremost women-focused association committed to the socioeconomic, educational, and cultural advancement of Mbo people.
She explained that since its establishment in 1991, the Association has consistently championed programmes aimed at empowering women, supporting education, preserving cultural heritage, and contributing to the overall development of Mbo Local Government Area.
Hon. Ekpenyong commended the EMOIMEE Development Trust for its numerous interventions and contributions to human capital development across the area.
She stressed the need for greater collaboration among stakeholders and expressed the Association’s readiness to partner with organizations that share its vision for a more prosperous Mbo.
