Green Pastures and Liberation Gospel Ministry (GPLM), Uyo, its general overseer, Apostle Ekpedeme Emmanuel, and wife, Dr Ukeme Emmanuel, have been honoured by the United Nations and the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA).
While the church received Certificate of Affiliation with the United Nations, the lead pastors were among eminent personalities recently honoured with the prestigious Eminent Peace Ambassador Award by the International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA.
Performing the investiture at the GPLM Church auditorium, 71 Umoren Street, Uyo, Global Diplomat Larry-Goodwill Akintoba Ajiola, praised Apostle Ekpedeme Emmanuel for his life, which he said was a reflection of the peace he preaches.
The Mayor of Peace of IAWPA, who was flanked by his Assitant, Amb. Sylvester Manila Akari, said Apostle Emmanuel exemplified the qualities of a true peace ambassador.
“His life’s work is a testament to his belief that peace is not only possible but achievable through intentional actions and unwavering faith”, he affirmed.
Dr Ajiola noted that the long years of service both in His vineyard and as public servants with distinctions, and having met other requirements of IAWPA, both Apostle Emmanuel and Wife, Dr Ukeme, were eminently qualified for the awared.
While congratulating all awardees, Dr Ajiola lauded them for their contribution for the cause of humanity and charged them to see the award as a promotion to engage in more humanitarian and philanthropic activities and to promote peace wherever they find themselves.
The global diplomat also presented a Certificate of Affiliation with the United Nations to Green Pastures and Liberation Gospel Ministries, granting the ministry the right to launch its humanitarian campaign with support from the United Nations in its chosen areas.
The event also featured the unveiling of the first-ever “Peace Begins With Me” campaign in Nigeria, an initiative championed by the United Nations to foster harmony and unity.
Others who also received the ambassadorial awards were: Mariam Iyabo Jimoh, Elizabeth John Edem, Ekaetten Effiong Udo, Nsidibe Edem Ekong and Deconess Sifon Dominic Umoh.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Apostle Ekpedeme Emmanuel thanked the IAWPA officials for finding them worthy of the honour.
He pledged to deploy the access gained through the award to advance global reach that would extend positive impacts to more people around the world.
