The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Comrade Ini Ememobong, has tendered his resignation letter to Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, citing personal reasons.
Ememobong’s resignation follows the governor’s declaration of his movement to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday, June 6, 2025.
In his resignation letter, Ememobong stated that his decision is guided by the governor’s directive for appointees unwilling to join the APC to resign, citing personal convictions.
While giving his 14 minutes’ long address as the defection event at the State Banquet Hall, Governor Umo Eno had reiterated his call for appointees who are not willing to move with him to the APC to step down.
Ememobong did not however, disclose details of his personal reasons which informed his resignation.
