Eno signs 2025 ₦955bn Appropriation  Estimates into law

✓₦655bn for capital, ₦300bn for recurrent expenditures

 

Governor Umo Eno has signed the 2025 ₦955billion Akwa Ibom State budget, christened Budget of Consolidation and Expansion.  into law.

He gave assent to the Appropriation Bill at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Uyo.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, which was witnessed by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon . Udeme Otong; members of the State Executive Council and state legislature; Eno commended the  lawmakers  for the expeditious passage of the budget proposals.

He sued for continued collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government for the overall benefit of the people.

It would be recalled that the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on Tuesday, December 24, passed the 2025 budget into law, following the adoption of the report by the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation and Finance, Dr Itoro Etim.

Following the adoption, the House dissolved into the Committee of the Whole to consider the report, after which it was read the third time and passed by the lawmakers.

The budget has a recurrent expenditure of ₦300billion, and capital expenditure of ₦655billion.

The 2025 budget outlay represents a 3% increase from the ₦923.412billion revised provision of 2024.
