Gov. Eno submits second-term nomination form ahead of 2027 polls
Ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially submitted his nomination form for the All Progressives Congress primaries, calling on party faithful to unite behind his reelection bid.
Speaking with Government House correspondents at the Victor Attah International Airport upon his return from Abuja, Eno, who came into office of the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, explained that his decision to seek a second term is rooted in the need to consolidate the numerous ongoing projects across the state.
Consolidating the ARISE Agenda
Governor Eno noted that his administration has reached significant developmental milestones anchored on the ARISE Agenda.
However, he emphasised that the scale of these projects requires a timeline extending beyond his current four-year mandate.
”As the visioner of these projects, it is most beneficial for the state that they are executed and completed as originally envisioned,” the Governor stated.
Key highlights from his address:
Sustainability: Emphasis on completing long-term infrastructure and social programmes.
Commitment: A renewed pledge to remain “committed to serving the people” through faith-based leadership.
Gratitude: Appreciation for the unwavering support of the citizenry over the past three years.
”We will continue to pray and trust in God, but the work on the ground is clear,” Governor Eno added. “Many of our initiatives are designed for long-term impact. That is why we are seeking a renewed mandate—to drive these projects home and ensure the progress already made truly benefits every Akwa Ibomite.”
The Governor concluded by expressing his hope that the support he has enjoyed during his first term will be sustained as the state moves toward the 2027 election cycle.
